Kick Off Middle Return

Coaching Points:

Front Line: Middle man: Do not line up directly in front of the kicker. Line up in the gap between the kicker and the first man to his kicking leg side. Once he is sure the kick has been made, drop 10-15 yards depending on the kick. Turn up field and hit the first opposite color jersey.

R1 and L1: Once they are sure the kick has been made, drop 5 - 10 yards depending on the kick, run for the opposite hash. Once they have pass each other, start looking for the first opposite color jersey to collide with.

R2 and L2: Once they are sure the kick has been made, start dropping and moving across the field. They should be 10 - 15 yards deep when they pass each other. Once they have passed each other, start looking for the first opposite color jersey to collide with.

LU and RU: First thing is to be aware of any kick that is coming to their area! Once they are sure the kick is deep and they are not responsible for it, head for opposite hash marks. Once they have passed each other, start looking for the first opposite color jersey to collide

L, M, R: Make sure they are not getting the kick, If the do get the kick the Receiver behind them will replace them in the wedge. The 3 returners will to drop to within 5 yards of the man catching the ball. Once the return man says go, they are to head straight up field, shoulder to shoulder, looking outside in. They are to attack the first outside threat they come to.

R: The return man is to catch the ball first! Once he has caught the ball, he screams "GO!" at the top of his lungs. This will tell the wedge in front of him to start upfield. He wants to stay behind the wedge as far upfield as possible. Once he sees daylight in the wedge, head toward it moving north to south and put points on the board!
